This Rubbermaid paper towel holder is the last one you'll ever need to buy. After frustrating years of having the entire towel roll come flying out of its holder when you have only one hand free to pull, we now have a fully functional holder that does the job it was designed to do. No more ruined rolls because they fell in a sink full of water, no more wasted sheets because it rolled across a dirty garage floor! We bought six additional holders for ourselves after the first one worked out so well and plan to buy more to give our children and friends next holiday season. By the way, it hangs perfectly on the under side of a cupboard or shelf...you just have turn it around so the flat side of the spring-loaded hook faces the opposite way you will pull. A couple of negative reviews for this holder just had it installed the wrong way around so that they were releasing the hook when they pulled. This is a great item!

I just want to say that I agree with the positive reviews here. I think any negative comments are a result of improper installation of the towel holder. I have two of these items. Both in my workshop. One is hanging down over the bench. The other is on an opposite wall, several feet from the one just mentioned. Never a problem with either. Please make sure the weight (such as it is) of the roll of towels is resting on the flat part of the spring loaded holding tabs. I would suggest you install a roll and hold the entire unit in position before you screw it in place. It will become pretty obvious how it should go. The side arms of the unit don't bend, so there's no falling roll when the towel is pulled off sideways. Width is snug enough so a roll of Bounty doesn't wander side-to-side more than about 1/4", or less. Yet, there's just enough room for the roll to spin freely when dispensing a towel. An easy thing to install and use. No problem recommending this Paper Towel Holder.

A simple piece of plastic, but somehow companies still manage to execute their product awfully. Rubbermaid plasters a gigantic sticker across the exposed portion of this paper towel holder - fine if it came off simply and cleanly. It doesn't. AWFUL. For a $10 product I shouldn't have to put two hours effort into peeling piece by piece of sticker, removing residue before I move onto mounting this simple piece of plastic. Also, they only include one mounting option - screws. A secondary, get this, Adhesive option would actual be welcome. Clearly they have good adhesive. Just poor execution of a simple product.
I'm revisiting my review, having lived with the product now for a few months (sticker-less) it serves it function well. I've increased my 1-star rating to a 3-star. I like how easy it easy to replace the roll of paper towel by simply pushing up. However I still wouldn't recommend this unless I knew the "sticker issue" was resolved.
