The battery received is not the real Sony battery as pictured. It do not hold the charge well. Only able to hold the charge up to 70% not able to be fully charged. However, it fits well into the Sony camera and able to provide energy needed for the camera. The picture as shown in the web page ad is misleading since the picture shown is the Sony battery.

Battery works on my sony SLT-A77 but does not display the life span of the battery. I don't like taking that kind of risk but, you get what you pay for. I will run a test on it and see how it does for me tomorrow. I hope I can get the same amount of shots or more than the factory battery. the voltage on it is 7.4 where the SONY is 7.2 . I hope this will not cause a problem for my camera.

I got this case to protect my Kobo ereader. It fits great! I love the zipper that completely encloses your device and yet makes it accessible. No device removal is necessary. I got a clip-on book light to use with this case- just clip it to the center top and I'm good to go! The outer pocket is handy for storage of your booklight or charger (a bit small to fit both items comfortably, though). All in all, I am quite satisfied.

Our 52" Sony Bravia flatscreen sits on top of a dresser in our bedroom and over time we have accumulated an assortment of peripherals, wires, and clickers. Our recent purchase of an audio system with blu-ray and speakers left a complete mess on top of the dresser. The OFC Express TV stand/riser provided a sturdy, simple space to store the new system's box and hide the various speaker wires. We bought the stand in black and it looks like it was designed to go with the TV; the base of the screen fits exactly on the top of the stand. The stand is well-made and was easy to assemble. We received it a bit earlier than expected, which was a plus. At under $40, this was an efficient solution to a problem we hadn't been able to solve in our visits to TV/video stores.

The Covert Element: A James Becker Thriller (Volume 3) Review by RCBR

Author John L. Betcher treats his fans to the third installment in the "Element Series" with his latest, The Covert Element. Betcher instantly hooks readers when he takes us back to 1985 as a US Army Ranger unit drops into the Mexican jungle to take down drug cartel bosses. Master Sergeant Juan Fuentes leads the well-trained and experienced team which includes a young Terry "Bull" Red Feather.

We find our hero, James "Beck" Becker in present day Red Wing Minnesota at the scene of a meth lab fire where 23 men of Mexican background were apparently murdered. Beck, a former Military Intelligence Agent, often aids Ottawa County's Chief Deputy Sheriff, Doug Gunderson in difficult cases.

Beck, with the help of his ex-CIA code cracking wife Beth, are able to use tactics not available to Gunderson and other law enforcement agencies and discover plans of Los Cinco--a Mexican-based drug cartel now setting up shop in Red Wing. Beck knows that taking down a drug cartel meth lab is a dangerous business. He looks to bring in his friend Bull Red Feather for the duration. However, Juan Fuentes is in town and has already recruited his former comrade-in-arms with a plan to blow up the lab. Beck has no interest in risking innocent lives with a bombing and hopes Bull will eventually agree.

Author Betcher has a knack with getting his main characters in and out of tight spots. Personally, I would have liked to have seen Beck kept in trouble a little longer, and perhaps see him vulnerable and fearful for his life and for that of Beth. Still, this is a well-plotted and exceptionally written and researched thriller. Betcher tells a convincing story and yet manages to keep the violence and coarse language to a minimum and thus ensures a wide and satisfied audience.

All the players are brought together as Betcher builds momentum and suspense for a satisfying ending that will leave you entertained and excited for the next episode. The book stands alone well, but I dare you to read this one without needing to quickly purchase The Missing Element (book 1) and The 19th Element (book 2).

The Covert Element by John L. Betcher

Once again, James Becker, a retired agent of some type is a small town attorney. James Becker has retired from a terrorism fight to live a sedentary life with his wife and girls safe in a small, insular community. In his first book, The 19th Element detailed the story of a Islamic terrorists' attack on a nearby nuclear plant. This time Becker gets entwined with a drug cartel.

Once again I am impressed how John so thoroughly humanizes his protagonist. John Betcher is an eminently approachable author. Becker's sense of humor is endearing and highly annoying to his buddies Gunner and Bull. Beth is a no-nonsense wife whose common sense and CIA background keeps Becker grounded and safe.

The book deals with the dismaying invasion of drugs and the impact of the drug cartels on law enforcement and society in general. John Betcher is not making any claims as a successor for those of us who loved Robert Parker's Spencer but as a confirmed fan I have to say the mantle may fit. The interplay between Becker and pals is entertaining in spite of the seriousness of the topic. I enjoyed interviewing John Betcher and I enjoyed reading this more polished novel. Keep up the good work Betcher!

"Though he was an American soldier, Fuentes considered his Ranger team a covert element in the larger conflict between the Mexican people and the cartels. This was a war he knew he would be fighting for a long time, whether under the American flag or not."


I continue to so much enjoy John Betcher's Series, especially when Beth, his wife, takes part in solving the crime. James and Beth are fun to get to know through scenes such as this:

"What have you been doing while I was at work anyway?" Beth asked, assuming a defensive posture."
"Pretty much rolling around in the neighbor's sand box. Why? Is there something unsavory about me?"
"I'd say you're pretty much out of savor. Now go get cleaned up so I can show you what I found."
With a bow and a doff of my imaginary cap, I was off to the shower. I knew Beth thought the cap thing was stupid. But hey...as far as vices go, a quirky doff isn't so bad.

Beth's background is CIA and she has extensive computer skills that were very much needed. Beck had been called by Doug Gunderson (Gunner), Ottawa County Chief Deputy Sheriff, to meet him at the site where a meth lab had been destroyed. More importantly, the "twenty-odd murder victims lined up outside" appeared to be execution style, perhaps gang related...

Information about what might be happening comes through Beck's friend and sometimes investigative assistant, Bull. His former sarge in the Rangers, had called, asking for help. He had told Bull there had been a massacre and that he was sure the Mexican Drug Cartel was involved. Beck knew that the police had not released any information about the meth lab deaths and immediately was suspicious how Bull's friend could know.

When Bull asked Beck to be in on the meeting with Fuentes, he agreed, hoping to gain further information.

Meth labs could be built/maintained within the US borders, thus improving quantity and saving both transportation and patrol problems. The head of the Mexican cartel had moved into the Minnesota area without anybody knowing it. Mexicans had been in the state for many years and were accepted by the people in the small surrounding towns. Now one lab had been destroyed--perhaps by another cartel? But there was also a major lab, ingeniously hidden within another organization--but where was it? At least one individual knew, was it the same one who had murdered those near the lab that had already been destroyed?

Tackling a major, known problem within the United States is just what James Becker would have done had he still be working, wherever he had worked...So even if he was now retired, Beck was still in there, doing what he does best to support the USA.

Follow the potential life of one Mexican-American individual who dedicated his life to eliminating the Drug Cartels. John Betcher's choice to use this character is intriguing, allowing us to see into the heart of many Mexicans who are just as concerned, and maybe even more so, about the influence of drugs in the United States and throughout the world. I commend John for this effort and look forward to future important books in this series. Highly recommended.

This may not be the most stylish case out there, but having had the smaller version for my last Nokia for 3 years (and it was still going strong), I was more than excited when I found out that they made this larger version. I bought this to go with my new Palm Pre, the phone fits great, and the extra spots in the elastic bands are great for carrying a small flashlight or pocket knife. The holders (both metal clip & Belt clip) are great. Spending a lot of time in scrubs, this comes in handy having both. The phone never moves, and when I have dropped the case with the phone in it, I have never done ANY damage, it really is the true Gladiator. :) I couldn't recommend this case enough!!!

It is a little big for the Blackberry Storm, but still works well. The only thing I don't like is that it is a little bulky on the waste, and the magnet stops the phone from ringing when you get a call. Other then those 2 minor things I like it.

I like the footprint/handprint part it comes with, but everything else seemed kind of "stuffed" in the book.
All the other babybooks I've seen had organization to them but this one had the holidays jumbled up, the growth chart way towards the back after ther 1-5 birthdays, etc..
The fact I still, after 14.5 months, have to flip through the pages to find what I'm looking for is quite annoying, but all in all it's a satisfactory babybook. Not something I'd buy again though.

Pear Head 35020 Review by I research everything

I recommend purchasing this book to capture the firsts (coming home from hospital, first holidays, etc), and then another book for just holding photos. This book is great, very easy to re-arrange the pages and use the photo corners. The only thing is that you can really only fit a few photos per page if you are using 4X6 standard prints. So you can document the event and write the details on the page to the right and then include a few sample pictures on the page on the left. The page on the right also does a great job of listing out what moments you should write about, and how. I'm sure you can purchase additional pages to hold more photos, but there really is not enough room to add them to the spine once the existing pages have pictures on them.

That said, I do love this book and am happy I bought it. Writing this review as I search for another, more basic photo album just to place more photos in.

It fits on to my SX40 properly and holds all of my 67 mm filters securely in place. The filters screw on to the adapter just fine.
The adapter is made out of plastic and at 21 dollars is way overpriced. When you screw filters in so that they are barely snug, it is extremely difficult to remove them. I would like to find one made of brass or at least aluminum that wouldn't flex so that you could remove the filters easily.

I purchased this filter adapter to go with a new Canon SX40 HS. This camera replaced my old SX10 IS. While this adapter was designed to install on both of these cameras, I had opted to thread the lens tube to accept 52mm filters on my SX10. While this threading option is free and allows for more widely available (and cheaper) filters, the risk of damaging the camera was great and photos taken in wide angles will have some vignetting.

The best option is to get this special adapter. It is actually a step-up ring that uses Canon's proprietary accessory socket on one side and a standard 67mm thread on the other. While the 67mm filters are a bit more expensive and not as widely available as 52mm, this is by far the best option.

Two things to keep in mind with this adapter... Stock Canon hoods cannot be used in conjunction with this adapter as they both use the same accessory socket. The other thing? This filter ring seriously widens the lens tube, which not only looks a little funny, it also causes the camera to rest on the adapter (or filter) when sitting on a flat surface (consider auto-off when sitting on a table and the lens retracting). Still, I highly recommend it!

Here is a book that should come with a WARNING on the cover "May be difficult to put down". Reason being that when I sat down to read this novel with a full cup of coffee, 45 minutes passed before I realized I now had a cold cup of coffee . Very well put together , I had to re-read many pages twice because I was reading too fast as I was anxious to find out what happened next . Mr Bufogle has a way with writing that I've never seen or read before , right to the point with no dragged out chapters as many authors do to add more pages .I would love to see a movie on Horse Latitudes to see who would play who , mainly Chester. H L is a book everyone can relate to at one point or another in life. Now the "cons" The cover didn't really fit the book at all , I guess you were trying to prove the old saying "you can't judge a book by its cover". A+ , 5 stars and 2 thumbs up , hope to see more of your work .

Henry Chinaski; Hank Moody; Val Miller -- they've got nuthin' on Chester Sprockett, the protagonist of Q.R. Bufogle's novel, Horse Latitudes.

Bufogle has forged a new style both in prose and storytelling: a fusion of Quentin Tarantino and Chuck Palahniuk sprinkled generously with Hank Bukowski. Some might argue that the book is more a collection of short stories than a novel. Not. Foregoing a linear narrative, the vignettes or "stories" that function as chapters (in much the same way as Hemingway's "In Our Time") tell the story of Chester Sprockett -- an out of work, recently dumped by his fiancee, ex high school football star and would-be novelist -- floundering in the Doldrums.

Veering wildly from present to past and back, Bufogle's scattergun narrative creates a tension and urgency that make this book impossible to put down. Driven by a sardonic wit that's part Vonnegut, part Bukowski, Horse Latitudes is at times wickedly, savagely funny -- as when Bufogle skewers the pretentiousness of both the avant-garde and literati: Chester and his fiancee, Pandora Zombeck, attend the screening of a new wave film where the director's cult-like followers all wear paper bags over their heads; a literary great's final masterpiece turns out to be a series of recipes retyped from a German cookbook. Add a hilarious bit about oral sex in a public restroom; a dream football game between a team of man-eating zombies and deceased literary icons; a bikini clad femme fatale with an overbite; and a visit from the ghost of Chester's father who regularly attends the horse races "up there" with George Washington and Julius Caesar (". . .the man's a degenerate gambler. Used to drop a bundle on those chariot races."), and you've got yourself one incredibly entertaining bit of fiction.

The smart button receiver does not work with some old garage door openers. My Overhead Door Co. opener has about 30VAC across the open / close switch terminals and promptly fried the Smart Button receiver when I connected it. There is not enough information available from SkyLink to know this until you connect it and smoke comes out of the Smart Button. Skylink sent a replacement under warranty, but I will need to return the Smart Button along with the keypad and remotes I bought. The product might be fine for other garage door openers, but you won't know from SkyLinks literature.

These are very nice gloves. I like the Mechanix line, but really wasn't thrilled with the repeated logo in white on the normal gloves. These have the same logo, only it is, as the description says, covert. Still readable, but not garish.

I know it's redundant to say they fit like a glove, but that expression got it's origins from things that fit perfectly. I have compared these to other work gloves, such as Stanley, but those all had seams that just hit the wrong places and would eventually make my fingers or fingertips sore. These gloves fit like a second skin. A slightly thicker second skin, but just the same.

While I can't exactly type out an email with them on, I can still use a keyboard without pressing four keys at once. They protect your hands very well, yet I can still pick up a dime off of the floor with them on.

The are vented, as stated, but they are still black and leather. You hands will still get a bit warm. But warm beats the heck out of the "hot" from similar products. Oh, and they're washable, too.

I suggest going to a brick and mortar store to try them on to get your size then come back here for a better price. If you don't need them right away, pop 'em in your cart and wait for the price to go down. I did and one day they dipped in price five bucks and a couple of clicks later, they were mine.
